State Championships, October 24 and 25: registration closes Monday, October 19 at noon.
The League posts the qualified list on Wednesday, October 14, and every qualifier has to register separately by noon on Monday, October 19, because State is not part of the season pass.
The season finishes at the State Championships in Glenwood Springs on Saturday, October 24 and Sunday, October 25. Freshman and JV race on Saturday, and Sophomore and Varsity race on Sunday.
The most important thing to know is that qualifying does not register you. State is not included in the League’s season pass, so every rider who qualifies has to sign up for it separately, and the window to do that is only a few days long.

How qualifying works
State is not open entry. Under the League rulebook, a rider qualifies by doing two things:
- Completing at least two of the four regular season races (Frisco, Steamboat, Eagle and Cañon City).
- Finishing in the top 40 of their category in our region on season points. Season points are the best three of a rider’s four results, so one bad day or a missed race does not count against you.
Cañon City on Sunday, October 11 is the last regular season race, so the qualifying list gets settled there.
The dates that matter
- Wednesday, October 14 by 5:00pm: the League posts the qualified rider list.
- Friday, October 16 by 5:00pm: the League posts its first list of registered riders, which is a good moment to check that your rider is listed.
- Monday, October 19 at 12:00pm: State registration closes. The League does not take late entries.
- Thursday, October 22 by 5:00pm: call-up lists are posted.
That leaves five days between the qualified list and the deadline, and a short window like that is easy to miss. Registering on the evening of the 14th, as soon as the list is up, is the easiest way to avoid that.
If something looks wrong
If you believe your rider qualified but cannot find them on the list, or registered and do not appear on the registered list, write to the League at registration@coloradomtb.org as early as you can. They can see things on their side that we cannot. Copy coach@boulderhighmtb.org so we know about it too.
Getting there
Pre-ride opens on Friday, October 23 from 2:00 to 5:30pm, and the State race page has the venue, pre-ride times and the rest of the weekend’s details. If you are staying over, the League’s lodging rates need to be booked by Thursday, October 15.
State is a great weekend to be part of, whether it is your first one or your fourth. See you in Glenwood.
