Glenwood Springs.
Colorado Mountain College · Spring Valley Campus. Sat + Sun, October 31–November 1.
When you stage.
Warm-ups are led by a coach or a team captain and start 55 minutes before staging, so the warm-up time is the one to set an alarm for. Staging is when you need to be in the chute with your plate on and your gel eaten, not when the gun goes. Tap your wave and the fuel planner will build the rest of your morning backward from it.

The League moved States back a week because of inclement weather, working with the land managers at Colorado Mountain College. The race times on this page are the original weekend's, moved to the new dates, and we will update them if the League changes anything. Questions about the move go to the League at info@coloradomtb.org.
Riders who already registered are still registered and do not need to do anything. Qualified riders who have not registered yet can sign up from Wednesday, October 21 at 5:00pm until Monday, October 26 at noon. Only riders on the League's qualified list can register, and State registration is a separate purchase that is not included in the Series Pass, which catches people out every year.
Freshman and JV race Saturday, October 31. Sophomore and Varsity race Sunday, November 1, and the coach race closes the weekend at 3:15pm. The team pit zone opens at 2:00pm each day, Friday included.
5.6-mile laps on the CMC Spring Valley campus with 653 feet of climbing per lap, starting at 5,760 feet. Two laps for Freshman, Sophomore and JV, three for Varsity. Freshman Boys, JV Boys, JV Girls, Sophomore Boys and Varsity Boys each start in two waves five minutes apart with one cut-off for both, so the staging time is the one to be on time for.
The League's Season Awards & Picnic is Saturday at 4:00pm at the CMC Field House Recreation Center, together with the Freshman and JV race awards. Everyone is welcome and snacks and drinks are provided. Sophomore, Varsity and team awards follow on Sunday at 4:15pm.
The League's contest at States is a beach party, which means beach wear, a team cabana and surf rock, judged on who is having the most fun in the sun. The most creative team with high participation is recognized at the awards ceremony.
Peaks 'n Pitas serves breakfast and lunch both days from 7:00am to 3:00pm, though the team pit is still the plan. The feed zone stocks Honey Stinger gels and water for racers, and the RockShox neutral support tent has mechanics from Mike's Bikes and Wheat Ridge Cyclery on site all weekend.
No dogs are allowed anywhere on the CMC Spring Valley campus, the camping included, and the League's race page lists pet boarding options. E-bikes are not permitted.
Parking is at the venue, first come first served, with handicap spots near the entrance to the team pit zone. People and gear can be dropped near the pit zone entrance before you go park. Illegally parked cars are towed at the owner's expense, so the parking staff's directions are the ones to follow.
The League's hotel blocks are the Residence Inn and the Courtyard by Marriott in Glenwood Springs, booked through the League's lodging link or by phone mentioning the Colorado High School Cycling League, the Comfort Inn & Suites in Carbondale from $179 a night, and the Silver Spruce Inn at 10% off by phone. Those rates were set up for the original weekend, so if you booked a room for October 23 to 25, it is worth calling the hotel directly to move it.
Roaring Fork Cycling runs camping on the CMC campus from Thursday, October 29 at 2:00pm to Monday, November 2 at 10:00am for tents, vans and RVs up to 35 feet, with no generators and no dogs. The League is honoring every existing reservation for the new dates, and Kristen Heath at the League can help with camping questions. Bathrooms and water are provided, showers are $5 at the CMC Field House, and spots are reserved through the League's race page.
Colorado Mountain College offers tours of the Spring Valley campus at 11:00am and 1:00pm both days, leaving from its tent in the vendor village, for anyone thinking about what comes after Boulder High.
The venue opens Friday, October 30 from 2:00 to 5:30pm for pre-ride and pit set-up. Family and friends may ride the course after 5:30pm on Friday and Saturday, though EMS coverage ends at 5:30 both days.
